I also recommend that you start filling out the intake form which helps you gather information needed for me to do a complete evalaution of your situation. It may be necessary to have it 100% complete before we meet as I can ask you questions but I would like it totally complete before we file in most cases.
You can also go ahead and do your credit counseling online followed by a phone call to 1-800-645-4959. Note that this is no obligation and you are not required to hire me by doing the credit counseling. If you hire me I will finalize and pay for your certificate with Hummingbird, otherwise you can finalize it and pay yourself and use it on your own. It is a good idea to get it over with so that you are eligibile to file. The certificates are valid for 180 days from the date you completed the credit counseling.
If you are unable to make the phone call there is another credit counseling service which uses the web and email www.consumerbankruptcycounseling.info which is free. It takes about a week to complete the process because it relies on emails that are answered or reviewed by human beings. This option might be good for those in the military overseas with internet but without reliable telephone access during our business hours.
